Once upon a time there was a tavern where we used to raise a glass or two, remember how we laughed away the hours and dreamed of all the great things we would do. Those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end we'd sing and dance forever and a day we'd live the life we choose we'd fight and never lose for we were young and sure to have our way. Then the busy years went rushing by us we lost our starry notions on the way if by chance I'd see you in the tavern we'd smile at one another and we'd say (CHORUS) Those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end we'd sing and dance forever and a day we'd live the life we choose we'd fight and never lose those were the days, oh yes those were the days. (CHORUS)     Había una vez una taberna donde solíamos brindar con un vaso o dos recordando cómo nos reíamos durante horas y soñábamos con todas las grandes cosas que nos gustaría hacer. Aquellos eran los días mi amigo, que pensábamos que nunca acabarían, solíamos cantar y bailar siempre y un día hemos vivido la vida que elegimos y hemos luchado para nunca perder éramos jóvenes y estábamos seguros de tener una meta. Luego los ajetreados años volaron para nosotros, perdimos nuestros ideales en el camino, si por suerte te viera en la taberna nos sonreiríamos otra vez y nos diríamos (ESTRIBILLO) Aquellos eran los días mi amigo, que pensábamos que nunca acabarían, solíamos cantar y bailar siempre y un día hemos vivido la vida que elegimos y hemos luchado para nunca perder aquellos eran los días, o sí, aquellos eran los días. Precisamente anoche miré por la ventana de la taberna, nada parecía como solía ser, en el cristal vi un extraño reflejo, aquella mujer encantadora ¿era yo de verdad? (ESTRIBILLO) Por la puerta llegó una sonrisa familiar, vi tu cara y te y oí decir mi nombre o mi amigo, somos más viejos pero no más sabios y en nuestros corazones, los sueños siguen siendo los mismos.
